Battles of the Mind raises awareness for the battles in our minds, Mental Health, in our society. I do this by showing people what it's like to experience problems such as anxiety by describing what it truly feels like and by using virtual audio illusions, that show you what goes on in the mind of those going through different issues.
I believe ignorance is becoming the root of many social issues today. When an issue does not effect us we tend to ignore it. This ignorance exists because people don't understand issues, such as mental health, if they have never experienced it. If people simply begin to recognise social issues, we are already closer to the reality of making a change. I hope to encourage someone to help overcome the social stigma surrounding mental health and to help people have a better understanding of it, whether you read or listen to help a friend with anxiety or if a bully listens and realises how it feels to be a victim. People's indifference towards mental health fuels the belief that it's okay to hide behind our masks. But we need to create an environment where people can ask for help, where we can speak about our mental health and not be stigmatised, an environment where people can say they are not okay. I hope to help in creating such an environment, where people understand the issues that are unseen, that are hidden behind our masks, the battles of our mind.
